There's a better word for what I am: an apatheist.
It's a neologism that fuses "apathy" and "theism." It means someone who has absolutely no interest in the question of a god's (or gods') existence, and is just as uninterested in telling anyone else what to believe.

The Next Step
Now that St. Sleazy has "repudiated" Pastor Hagee and returned his endorsement on the heels of Obama's Rev. Wright rejection, can we please reach a logical conclusion? Can we just get religion out of politics? Please?
I came across a copy of an old Time Magazine from 1960. In it an atheist columnist writes with sadness that religion was a part of the election at all. Sadly, I don't think Time Magazine would publish the same column today. The nearly fifty year old article is too forward thinking.

ReplyDeleteWe've come so far backwards.
Wow I would love to see that Time magazine!
ReplyDeleteOh it is infuriating and annoying and remember I am one of the religious among you.
Keep them apart. Period.
Welcome - smart atheists for president or other public office.
Can't we just have smart people who can lead?
Oh I know - call me a crazy dreamer.
