Today's Historical Abomination
On January 11th, 1973, the "American" League of major league baseball adopted the "designated hitter" rule, an abomination that has tainted the purity of baseball ever since. When "god" (whoever she is) created baseball, it was ordained that a lineup consisted of 9 players. Allowing a 10th player is just plain wrong, and the world has been going steadily downhill ever since. If we really want to save America, I believe that an excellent first step would be the elimination of the designated hitter.

I had never known how historic January 11 is. Now I do. Thanks, Pygalgia.
You don't want to piss off God. She, like most women, has a very long memory.
Kali has no problem cutting off one of their heads...
Never did understand the rational behind that except that most pitchers are crappy hitters.
