Lots of talk about impeaching the mis-administration. The people support it. And I support it. But it's not gonna happen for one simple reason: impeachment is tried in the Senate. We don't have the votes in the Senate for cloture. Bush and Cheney could eat babies live on TV, and they'd still have 41 votes in the senate.
Still, I'd love to see it, if only for symbolic value.

I saw this too, 54 % of US adults support impeaching Cheney, 45% Bush. Interesting, but these numbers show a collective disgust among the US people over the lies and insane policy this administration has perpetrated in America's name.
I wonder if the GOP would really try to stop an impeachment in the Senate through filibuster. Nearly 50% of GOPers are up for reelection in 08 and they are currently jumping Bushs death ship like rats to save their political careers.
Even if Bush isnt impeached I predict a Democrat landslide in 08 in the House, Senate, and Executive. The GOP are done, their "moral value" family crusade of killing and torture is no longer a force in American politics (except for the kookoo Christian fundamentalists...bush's 29% base).
I also predict civil and criminal court cases involving the Bush admin post 08. This may include Bush and Cheney. The GOP is in deep shit, and they know it. It is kinda funny, the GOP portraying themselves as big tough war mongering ass kickers gave them much power from 2000-2003, now the same idea is destroying them...good!
But remember, my predictions suck, I thought the American people were too stupid to vote out GOpers in 2006, but they did, even with cooked voting machines and fascist pundits on TV...go figure
Senator Mike Gravel is indifferent about impeachment. He thinks there's greater potential mileage and traction in Congress to get binding legislation to end the Iraq occupation this year.
There should be an option for the people to impeach. The requirements are as follows:
1) At least 6 people who agree impeachment is the best and only option
2) My written permission
Oh, and thanks for the link. I'll shall be adding you in a moment.
